Story Behind the StoryBetween the Tides was my first full-length manuscript.
The title came after I read an article about the sea life that lived between the tides in the Pacific Northwest. I was fascinated with these animals that thrived between the ebb and flow of the sea.
I chose the literary quotes before each chapter from my favorite books and authors – I wanted each to represent the smaller themes within each chapter. My favorite: “Curiouser, and curioser,” by the King in Alice in Wonderland– it made me laugh.
