Hello all,
The south is covered in a thin film of yellow pollen, which means this: Spring is here. Finally. Spring also means that there is only a short time until the release of my newest novel, DRIFTWOOD SUMMER, on June 2nd. That's just two weeks from now!
This has been a crazy and beautiful year for me, and I can't express how grateful I am for reader's and bookseller's support -- and how humbled. As I traveled on book tour last year and talked to book clubs on the phone, visited book festivals, and read through my emails, I was often overwhelmed by the kindness of strangers. But then again -- that is what books do -- make friends of strangers, connecting us through the written word.
This new novel -- DRIFTWOOD SUMMER -- was born from my love of two things: bookstores and the beach. I combined these two elements inside the story of the three Sheffield sisters -- three slightly estranged sisters -- who must reunite to save the family coastal bookstore. Being the oldest of three sisters, I enjoyed this journey with the Sheffield sisters (although, right here, right now I make this disclaimer: this book is not about my family in any way whatsoever -- that's my story and I'm sticking to it).
Please browse through the newsletter where you can enter the new contest, and read the first chapter of DRIFTWOOD SUMMER. Take a look at my Driftwood Tour; there are lots of great events! Check out the locations -- maybe I'll be near you? I would love to see you, of course.
Warmly,
Patti Callahan Henry
