About
Coming from Costa Rica (to the south), the first stop is unquestionably San Juan del Sur, the country's beach tourist and surfing hub, as well as the country's largest city. Known for its clubs and restaurants, as well as a Christ monument that is comparable in some ways to the most famous in Rio de Janeiro, and above all for the several beaches that surround it driving directions, all of which are ideal for surfing, the town is extremely touristic and nearly created in the manner of Mexico. Some people have even been fortunate enough to witness sea turtles laying their eggs. The first stop on our detour via Nicaragua was actually in Maderas, which was one of these beaches - and one of the best for surfers - with the aim of stopping in San Juan on our way back to Costa Rica later.
