Join us for our latest culinary & literary adventure and a delicious evening filled with pies and prose!

Join our latest edition of A Cook & A Book (& A Vitamix) LIVE! Our very special guests will be bestselling authors Paula McLain, Patti Callahan Henry, and Beth Howard. The authors will discuss their work, all while learning how to make the perfect pie.

  • Paula McLain is the author of the New York Times bestsellers Love and Ruin, Circling the Sun, and The Paris Wife.

  • Patti Callahan Henry is the author of the USA Today bestseller Becoming Mrs. Lewis and The Favorite Daughter, among others.

  • Beth Howard is the author of the memoirs Hausfrau Honeymoon: Love, Language, and Other Misadventures in Germany and Making Piece: A Memoir of Love, Loss and Pie.

In addition to the discussion, we will sample some of Beth’s famous pies that are featured in her cookbook, Ms. American Pie: Buttery Good Pie Recipes and Bold Tales From the American Gothic House.

Copies of books from all three authors will be available at the Solon Branch to pick up and read prior to the program.

Books will be available for purchase and signing at the event courtesy of Mac’s Backs – Books on Coventry.

From Patti's Instagram:

@theworldneedsmorepie is exactly right - the world needs more pie. And we all need to be “making piece” (purposeful typo). Said it before, libraries are so so much more than a place to borrow a book. They are a refuge. A place of community. Thank you Cleveland: you were hilarious, beautiful in autumn and a reminder of what matters. Xoxox @rsblockmtm is a king among men. @paula_mclain
