The ninth annual Allentown Art Museum Society of the Arts (SOTA) “Luncheon With The Authors” returned in person Oct. 7 at Lehigh Country Club, Allentown.

Mistress of Ceremonies was Brittany Sweeney, 2020 Emmy Award winner, PBS39. Author attendees were, in person, Asha Lemmie, “Fifty Words For Rain,” and Patti Callahan, “Surviving Savannah,” and via Zoom, Nancy Johnson, “The Kindest Lie.”

Event chairs were Mary Zegarski and Diane MacConnell.

Attendees included Max Weintraub, Allentown Art Museum President & CEO; Michelle R. Stringer, Allentown Art Museum Board of Trustees Chair, and Val Johnson, SOTA President.

With social distancing COVID-19 protocol in effect, attendance was limited to 125. The event was held virtually in 2020 and in-person in 2019.

Attendees purchased books, which the authors signed. There were authors’ remarks, an authors’ discussion and authors’ questions and answers.

The menu included fall chopped salad; grilled chicken, salmon or tofu, and apple crisp with ice cream. There were items and events to bid on by those at the luncheon.
