What is my book about?
In my book, we meet two young sisters who are sent away from home during Operation Pied Piper in England in 1939. Once settled in Binsey outside Oxford, fourteen-year-old Hazel creates a fairy tale land for five-year-old, Flora Lea, called Whisperwood and the River of Stars.
When the unthinkable happens, and Flora Lea disappears from the edge of the River Thames, Hazel blames herself and Whisperwood. That is until twenty years later when Hazel discovers that Whisperwood is now a children’s book written by an American author. Hazel sets off on a feverish quest to find out why their story exists if Flora Lea is gone.
