Zibby’s "Most Anticipated Spring and Summer Books"

Maybe it’s because I woke up to a dusting of snow covering New York City, or perhaps it’s because I’ve been dealing with all my kids’ summer camp plans. But all of a sudden, I have summer on the brain. So of course, that means digging into what I’ll be reading.

One of the most fun, gleeful parts of my job is that I get to see what books are coming out months ahead of time. Publicists pitch me books via email and I use a site called Edelweiss to find the right books for me. I literally sorted through 4,911 books with my unique set of criteria and selected my tippy-top favorites for you. When a few of these covers popped up on my screen, I gasped in excitement. A new novel by Ann Patchett! And Emma Donoghue!

As soon as I compiled my list, I knew I had to send it out to all of you right away — so we could collectively gasp in excitement. (Did you?! Let me know after!) I hope that as you sprinkle salt on snowy sidewalks, you’ll fantasize about these summer reads and where you’ll be in six months. Hopefully sitting in the sunshine, with a book open on your lap.
